Dr. Amodeo is the current Director of Health Policy for the American Academy of Ophthalmology in Washington D.C. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Alabama, with a focus in public health, specifically in health policy and exercise science. Dr. Amodeo is an expert in regulatory affairs as it pertains to healthcare coverage and provider payment policy, drug pricing, and patient access to care. She has 15 years of experience in the health care field, spanning academia, clinical settings, the health insurance market, research, and health policy. Dr. Amodeo is also an adjunct professor and her research has included physical activity, heart disease, and health behavior theory. In her free time, she enjoys power-lifting competitively, hiking, camping, and cycling.
